Logel Science Foundation (LSF) is committed to creating a safe, respectful and protective environment for all individuals involved in its activities, particularly children and vulnerable persons. As an organization engaged in research, innovation and community-based initiatives, LSF recognizes its responsibility to safeguard the well-being, dignity and rights of all participants.
This policy outlines LSF’s commitment to preventing harm, abuse, exploitation and neglect and establishes clear procedures for safeguarding and child protection across all operations.
Scope
This policy applies to:
- All staff, consultants and volunteers
- Board members and partners
- Contractors and service providers
- Participants in LSF programs and activities
It covers all LSF activities, including research, fieldwork, training, community engagement and events.
Definitions
- Child: Any person under the age of 18
- Safeguarding: Measures taken to protect individuals from harm, abuse, neglect or exploitation
- Child Protection: Specific actions to prevent and respond to harm against children
- Abuse: Includes physical, emotional, sexual abuse, neglect or exploitation
Policy Statement

Code of Conduct
All individuals representing LSF must:
- Treat all individuals with respect and dignity
- Avoid any form of inappropriate behavior, exploitation or abuse
- Not engage in sexual activity with anyone under 18
- Not exchange money, goods or services for sexual favors
- Avoid being alone with a child in inappropriate settings
- Report any safeguarding concerns immediately
Failure to adhere to this code may result in disciplinary action, including termination of engagement.
Prevention Measures
LSF will implement the following
- Safeguarding awareness and training for staff and volunteers
- Risk assessments for all projects involving children or vulnerable groups
- Safe recruitment practices, including background checks where applicable
- Clear guidelines for engagement with communities and minors
Reporting and Response Procedures
LSF ensures that all safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and handled promptly
Reporting
- Concerns should be reported immediately to the designated Safeguarding Focal Person or management
- Reports may include suspected abuse, misconduct, or risk of harm
Response
- All reports will be assessed and documented
- Appropriate action will be taken, including referral to relevant authorities where necessary
- Confidentiality will be maintained throughout the process
